After 11 years coaching High School and then College Football in Upstate New York, Thom Abraham embarked on a broadcasting career.  Thom did color commentary on College Football for the Empire Sports Network and NESN from 1997 to 2000, while also debuting The Thom Abraham Show on WYSL in New York.
In 2001, he took the show to Southwest Florida, hosting mornings on 770 AM.  During this time, he also became the Voice of the Florida Firecats af2 football team.
In 2004, the show moved to North Alabama, and to Afternoon Drive, on WUMP, the Tennessee Valley's Alabama Sports Affiliate.  Thom also hosted the "Gameday Tailgate Show" before Alabama football games, and was the Voice of the Tennessee Valley Vipers af2 team.

In 2007, it was off to Nashville on 106.7 the Fan, while the show was still syndicated on the UMP in North Alabama.  In 2009, the show moved to WNSR in Nashville, after a format change at The Fan, and the show continued to be heard in the Valley on 97.7 the Zone.
In 2013, Thom returned to WUMP in the Afternoons, with the show also being carried on 740 AM in Montgomery.  Thom also returned to morning radio in SWFL on Fox Sports, doing double duty for 3 years.

In 2004, Thom also began doing an outdoors show, "Bass Buck and Duck Radio" in North Alabama.  In Nashville, the show became "Southern Bass Radio" and was heard on 8 stations in the region.  In 2017, the show became Nationally Syndicated on the SB Nation Radio Network, under new sponsorship as "Bassmaster Radio".  As a lifetime member of BASS, this was a dream come true.

Currently, Thom also hosts "Field of Faith Radio" on Kingdom FM in Florida.  This show chronicles the Christian testimony of Athletes around the country.

Thom resides in Winchester, TN, with his wife of 38 years, Allyn.  They have 9 kids and 9 grandkids, with a 10th on the way!  All shows are broadcast from the Big Dawg Productions Studio in Winchester.  Big Dawg Productions also produces events for the NFL Alumni in Tennessee, as well as other projects.
